Kindly Fed doesn't collect any data. There's no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your family's information stays on your iPhone, and in your own iCloud if you choose to share with family.
Your family members and their diets, allergies and foods they won't eat, your menus, shopping lists, ratings, what's in your kitchen, and the notes you type all live on your iPhone. So does the taste memory the app uses to suggest dinners your family likes.
Sharing is off unless you turn it on. When you do, your menu, shopping list, checked items, kitchen and family settings are stored in your iCloud account with Apple's CloudKit, in encrypted fields, and shared only with the people you invite. We can't read it. You can stop sharing anytime in Family › Sharing.
"Anything else this week?" and "Change your week" use Apple's on-device model. What you type stays on your iPhone and isn't sent to us.
When you scan a recipe or a receipt, or take a photo of your fridge, your iPhone reads it on the device. The photo isn't saved by Kindly Fed and isn't sent anywhere.
Apple handles purchases and subscriptions. We only learn whether you have an active plan, not your name or payment details. You can manage or cancel in Settings › your name › Subscriptions.
The prices in the app are estimates built into the app. Seeing them doesn't send anything about you anywhere. If you change a price or scan a receipt, the new price stays on your iPhone.
If you shop at a Kroger family store (Kroger, Ralphs, King Soopers, Fred Meyer, Harris Teeter and others), you can choose your store and see its real prices. To find stores, the app sends your ZIP code to our small server, which asks Kroger and doesn't keep it. To get prices, the app sends the store and the grocery items on your list. The server keeps each store's prices for a day so it doesn't have to ask Kroger again. It doesn't keep your ZIP code, your IP address or anything else about you, and there's no account.
When you import a recipe from a link, your iPhone opens that web page directly, the same way Safari would. Nothing goes through our server.
Settings › Your Data › Delete All Data removes everything Kindly Fed keeps on this iPhone, including taste memory. If you shared with family, stop sharing first; you can also remove Kindly Fed's iCloud data in Settings › your name › iCloud.
Kindly Fed is meant for adults planning family meals. A parent can add children to the family so meals fit them, and that information stays on the parent's iPhone like everything else.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and say so in the app. Questions: support@kindlyfed.com
